How about having them write a check for a grand (or, whatever), you write them a bill of sale? When they're done and everything is satisfactory for both of you, you return their check and they return the bill of sale and the trailer.
The local fertilizer plant has a bucket truck that they will lend out. For insurance purposes they "sell" you the truck and later when everything works out fine, you "sell" it back to them. This was several years ago, I don't know if they still do it that way. |
