Subject: RE: putting cat5 in black poly

Hi Ed; I was thinking a better cable, but have about 500'of free cat 5 in a box.
This whole deal started a few years back when I got a wireless broadband link(2MBs)
but cousin could only get dial-up. I knew I would need someway of get signal around
the big shed. I figured it was a good way to learn routers and packet routing. We
never used a good antenna, but just what came with routers. The system worked to
my surprize. For two years the repeater was just in old chemical jug fasten to the
roof. Only when the jug started to break-up did we moved it inside with small antenna.
the signal is just border line, as 30 degree off vertical can cause signal loss. With the
new system I will have a 24Dbi dish on the shed. I tell my cousin he will not need a
microwave for his wieners, just hold them in the front window.
