Ladoga, IN, United States, North America, Earth | Had new planter with starter setup last year. Put 10-34-0 + ascend on to start with. Had some startup issues in our first test patch and was working it. We ended up running I would guess probably 20 gal on the ground through each row unit trying to figure out the problem. It ended up had a chunk of something stuck in the flowmeter that stopped it from measuring so hyd pump was going full bore. Obviously it didn't grow anything in that spot last year.
Fast forward to this year and I drive by that spot. The corn that was planted on top of my spill spot is couple feet taller and tasselled before the rest.
This field has been CoC for 8 yrs. I've not taken a soil sample in that spot to see what might be going on but wanted to ask what you guys thought might be the difference? We typically preplant NH3 this field do to its small size and gets replacement fert + a build %. Usually a high yielding patch.
