Morris, IL | Boy you really wouldn't like what we are doing then, ran between 10-15% of our N with planter and sidedressed the rest. No risk no reward, we are using NH3 sidedress so quite a $$$ advantage to this system, but i'm still really happy your sidedressing some rather then none. Just finished yesterday. We have never had any problems where we actually get N on with planter, but when we get late we can tell where planter was slow to get going or where i ran out 1/2 pass from the end, plugged row or the like. Relatives one year had some go to tassel and that was first year i saw entire field run out of N, but boy could you see where you loaded planter and spilled some UAN. That was sick looking but i believe that was 09 and who didn't have huge problems around here in 09, think it still yielded good. | |
