Subject: Canopy posts and ROPS for older tractors

Tennessee
The thread further below about Saginaw canopies got me to thinking. Would it be feasible to fill the posts and tubing with sand and then weld shut or use some other method for sealing up?

Was thinking if not sand then something else, but thought maybe that might help absorb vibration and dampen sound in addition to using thick pieces of rubber where it bolts to back axle.

Would adding a section of thick black rubber mat somehow to underside of canopy help better than foam?
