I am very impressed with the quality of advice you have received. I would suggest buying the cheap tools you if you do not plan to use them. If you actually use the tools, you can save money, be more productive and reduce frustration by buying the best tools. I have enjoyed using my 18-volt DeWalt tools. However, I think my newer 20-Volt DeWalt Lithium Ion tools are a lot better. Amazon.COM and the big box home centers have comparable power tool prices. I have saved money by buying new tools and some supplies on EBay. A few years back I bought a Ridgid sander from Home Depot that had a lifetime warranty. Last year the sander quit working and Home Depot wanted $48.00 to repair a sander that could be replaced for about $70.00. I found out the Ridgid lifetime warranty will not cover normal tool wear!
