 Belt conveyors are awesome...............until the belt slips. Or a bearing on a roller goes out. Or you jack it up too steep. But otherwise, they are the stuff for moving fertilizer and grains.

 Augers are much lighter weight for the tonnage capacity and have much simpler bearing configurations and are actually a more efficient conveyor per dollar invested. But they wear the flighting quick and grind up the fertilizer and grains some. They can go vertical when needed. There is no belt tension other than a drive belt if it has one.

 IMO.
