Subject: RE: Beacons?

Waverly MN
I have added beacons to several of our tractors. On each of them I have pulled the power from the flasher circuit without having any issues. Turn on the flashers, the beacon is on also. On a couple I also put a separate switch, in addition so that when the work lights are on i can activate the beacon. Some manufactures lock out the flashers when work lights are on. Safety reasons, that way when you are going down the road you cannot have work lights shining rearward. I over road this primarily for the seldom occasions that need to load a truck on the road with a grain cart or another operation similar. Good luck. I know what everyone says about guys that have beacons on there tractors. But in my opinion most non farming motorists ignore just flashers now days. At this point the beacons scare the hell out of them, especially after dark. They slow way the heck down when meeting and passing. Mission accomplished for myself.
