If you have "a few" cows, then you probably won't have any calves then. That is assuming the cows had calves a year ago around the same time. Preg checking and semen testing- you have to do it. And to those who say their vet calls some open or some abort the calves, then you don't have a good vet and you probably have nutrition or mineral problems.
