BCFENCE - 4/24/2014 05:39 Im glad when it works out like that,, because it doesn't allways.. Thomas, you are certainly right, it doesn't always go like this, but we can hope. 36 degrees F this morning with a driving rain and wind. Not ideal calving weather either. Same predicted for most of the rest of the week. Today I am going to put up a creep gate across one bay of the hay shed and put some straw bedding surrounded by bales and see if the calves find it. There were a few manure spreaders moving yesterday but the ground is wet, soft and getting wetter and softer. No field work done that I can see. Rain and lows in the 30's through the entire 10 day NWS forecast. But it still beats a blizzard, ice and temps in the teens as at earlier calving last year. Jim |
