Columbia Basin, Ephrata, WA | Yeah, they work fine. Much nicer than going around at harvest time trying to beg/borrow/rent whatever was available and dealing with hammer traps, grain hung up on landing gear structure, and trailers that have three or more hoppers without dividers. The Frontiers traps open ok without crawling under the trailer and the slopes are steep enough that they clean out very well. They're steel, so not NAT approved, but we keep them off the roads when salted in the winter and they stay in pretty good shape. Gravel is a little hard on the paint on the underside of the trailer, but that really can't be avoided.
I think the quality of my 2010 is a little better than my 2011, and I believe they were having some employee turnover problems in 2011. It would be interesting to compare to a '13 to see if there's a difference. |
