People have been drinking alcoholic beverages for a long as they have known how to make them, like 6000 years or something like that so I don't expect to see much change.
And remember America's famous failed experiment of outlawing all forms of alcoholic beverages.
Oh, and since Chimel is here there is always the story of the long lived Frenchmen who drink red wine daily.
