We had this problem with a new planter this year as well.  Went to the diagnostics page for the VRD and you can isolate the (in my case) 3 drives.  Center one was what causing the problem.  I hit the turn meter button about 10 times thinking since it was new there might be air or something in it.  It did finally take off.  Maybe this is the same instance since we you are talking a new planter.
