northeastern Ohio | Come to Ohio and you can buy week old Jersey bulls for $20 each. Prices ranged from $1 to $40 per calf in the past two months at the local auctions. It costs me $20 in milk to feed them for a week....... So multiply that by 8 weeks and you get $160 in milk plus grain, plus straw, plus labor = about $225 in costs to get them to 2 months old with no profit added in.
