12" limit is environmental. Won't hurt the corn but higher chances of runoff from rain events. I'd say your agronomist needs to watch how he recommends things. Environmental people will take his comments and construe them as using atrazine off label. They will run to the nearest government and tell them what horrible stewards we are as producers and try to eliminate atrazine from our use. Believe me I have seen small town govt buy into this stuff real quick even when their economy depends heavily on ag all because of the idea that they might get some money.

Remember: "The label is the law". The EPA doesn't care for your opinion whether common sense or not.
