Sounds like you've got the controller orientation screwed up. Just because its mounted on the floor, doesn't mean you select "floor". Common mistake for new players. This will give the exact symptoms you've mentioned. Normally you can set these things up with all the basic settings and they will steer to some degree.
If your T2 Box is mounted on the floor, with the connectors pointing towards the windscreen, then the option you need to select is "front". If this is correct, then I would also double check your antenna offset forward/back.
There should have been a booklet that came with it that shows how to cal with the 250.
