Near-north Ontario, French River | Population wise I'd aim for 18-22k seed drop, fertilize it exactly as you would grain corn. Your herbicide program will depend on what you have but for the most part we like RuP/Primextra/Callisto pre-emerge. In your case I would work the soild, plant your first block then wait until just before emergence to spray. That gives lots of time for a flush of weeds, and will get you some real good residual control. If you have another flush just spray a burndown over the next block prior to emergence of the block and so on. |
