Subject: Towing a swaying implement with negative tounge weight

Kingdom of Callaway - Fulton, Mo 65251
Last year someone on here asked about how to help keep a towed implement from swaying. Luckily I haven't had any loosy goosy stuff to take any pictures of until now.

I bought a Crustbuster notill drill last week and towed it home 70 miles. They have negative tounge weight so i knew to add some weight to the truck. I used a 3000 pound concrete block robbed from a silage pit.

We started out and when you got going 25mph it started whipping back and forth. We stopped and took two chains and ran them from the outer frame on each side back to the tounge and tightened each with a binder. That takes the slop out of the hitch area. We also tilted it forward as much as possible.

We took off again and could go 50mph with no problems. It works great for disks, field cultivators, etc, especially the junk I tend to buy!

I got home and it was raining so I didn't want to drive through fields to get around a narrow gate. So me and Mr. STIHL fixed it so we can fit through.

I would recommend you buy a higher quality red flags than I did. The ones in the photo were new when I started out with the drill.
