AMS or liquid AMS products like Choice Weathermaster, among others, really do not change the pH of the water. They buffer the water from hard water ions, such as calcium, and provide a little N source in spray solution. This helps prevent tie up of chemical with the ions

To lower pH, you need a product like LI 700. Some products definitely work better with a more acidic pH. Sulfunylurea chemistries do not
