far sNSW , Australia | New to us 4630. Hub oil blew out the seal and all over the wheel. The hub was very hot. I had changed the oil the day before and it was very black. Dropped the rest of the oil out of the hub that hadn't blown out, refilled, drove a little way and it was really hot again. Local JD came and took it away. The brake inside the hub had locked up and the disks were in a mess. He couldn't really see why the brake had jammed on. Back together. Drove it yeaterday and its nice and cool now. I am hesitant to use the brakes and I know how to check. You slip the hydro lever into neutral on a slope to check the brakes are free. And feel the hubs regularly. The machine has got just over 4000 hrs on it. Maybe its had a hard life before we got it. | |
