NE Iowa | I use salt blocks and a 10% P mineral blocks when on pasture. I use free choice loose salt and Kent Bio-Plus mineral when being fed hay. I bet I don't spend $12 per cow a year on mineral even though they have access to it year round. It seems like after I upped the fertility of my hay ground and started tissue testing my alfalfa the mineral consumption went down dramatically. Probably only 1/3 of what I used to spend. | |
