Portland, Oregon | That's why having an autopilot system is the key to the longevity of your system. I rarely ever touch the controls and when I do the autopilot is still engaged so that I can't make the plane do anything crazy. When it comes to picking a plane or a copter it really comes down to your acreage. Small farms are ideal for copters, whereas a plane can cover a 1000 acres a hour. I have connection to my plane out to as far as 20 miles, I'll never send it that far, because I lose live video at about a mile and half, but the capability is there. Also, if the plane for any reason, loses connection with the ground station it automatically returns to the last known location of the ground station. Hope this helps.
