Jeremy, I am so sorry that you and your wife are having to go through this. Something you just don't plan for, like you said, not this early in your life anyway. I hope the specialist will help her. Is she just being fed with IV fluids? Will she tolerate a feeding tube? Not sure I understand if any food would be tolerated in her stomach. But if she can be fed with a feeding tube, my aunt had one for 17 years. No regular food and she was healthier after having that put in. Of course not fun, but she managed. Prayers and positive thoughts for you and your wife.

She tolerated some foods until last week. Ensure was her only sure bet but that started coming back up last week so right now she is in hospital with IV fluids. A feeding tube is probably in our future unless a miracle happens. My sister has had a feeding tube since she was born so we are familiar with that. Today she was having a good day until she ate a half a banana and a short while later it came back up. She has lost 20-25 pounds in the past couple months. She is in a lot of pain almost all the time and very nauseous. She gets very depressed and has a hard time with everyday things. Some days she is so dizzy she has to crawl around the house. She doesn't sleep much and doesn't have much energy. I hate to sound so negative but there's not much positive at this moment. She passed out one day and after that she has had issues with talking and having a normal conversation. Before she was quick witted and never was without words. Now she struggles to find words sometimes to say something. She acted like she had a stroke but ER doctors said this was normal with passing out. But it hasn't gone away since it happened a few weeks ago.
