Subject: RE: Looking for a app to measure distances for a IPhone

I would consider the accuracy of the iPhone GPS before investing too much time and effort in it. I can be driving (when the iPhone has a clear view of satellites because I'm headed South or West while I'm in the driver's seat) using Google or Apple maps and sometimes it will constantly think I'm turning down another road and it keeps telling me how to get back on the right path even though I'm on the right path.

If i'm still, it will occasionally think I'm moving and it will give me the next step in the set of directions.

My understanding is that if you want accuracy on your GPS, you need to pay $4,000 for a WAAS reciever that's actually comparable to what we use in ag and is designed to work with an iPhone or you need to buy a cable that is designed to feed NMEA strings into your iPhone from your current GPS reciever and you also need to spend a lot of tinkering time getting your iPhone to understand that NMEA string.
