I used to not have an extension on my combines but the manufacturers have not kept up. With corn yields now going 200 bu per acre and above, half mile rows which are common in the cornbelt, we now need about 40 bu per row bin capacity. That means 240 bu for a 6 row combine and 320 for an 8 row. It is rare around here to not see aftermarket extensions.
