Subject: Cutting apart a McFarlane RD4035 Reel Disc

Southeastern IL
We have a 2yr old McFarlane 35' reel disc thats not worth anything anymore (in our area). We use it a little in the spring just because we feel like we have to. Not really happy with the job it does in any conditions. Thinking about cutting it apart in front of the wheels to lengthen it and add some C-shanks with wide sweeps. Have considered wavy coulter blades or maybe even wavy concave blades on the front also. Or maybe add a second disc gang right behind the front one. Maybe take the basket off, leave the spike tooth harrow and pull a double basket behind it. We have several different ideas. Just wanting to move more soil and turn it into more of a convential till tool instead a min till. We have a welding shop so design/fab isnt a problem. Just looking for other ideas. What do you guys think??
