My fan on my furnace has been running continuously for 8 yrs now, winter and summer.

As mentioned, it keeps the house tempered pretty consistantly and elmanates hot / cold zones in the house.

Edit: you may need to change filters more often. As it is cleaning your air continuously . .  .
