Sandy Hook, MB | Hello All
Sometimes I feel that I'm paying just a little bit too much for some parts. John Deere part # RE262598: $188.11, hydraulic pump heater used on all their tractors that have the cold weather starting kit. Yes it's stainless steel (just the tube, not the nut), but how much stainless steel went into making that part? How much steel? How much wire? How much labour? If they're that common of a part & from what I've read here I'm not the only 1 that has to replace it, is there an aftermarket available? I went to the local auto supply & bought a brand new alternator for 1/3 of what John Deere wanted for 1 for my 4040.
