Don't y'all have roads around the scales up there? We do here and use them.
In some places. There's a pretty easy route to by-pass the scales on highway 16 in AB (take highway 14 to the south), and there's a paved tertiary highway that allows a fella to dodge around the Regina scale. Skip a few lanes in Saskatoon to miss the cameras, and that scale wasn't ever open when I was running those roads, but easy to dodge that one as well if a guy is in a hurry.
