Makes me wonder why a large company would go through the logistics and production changes only to sell two versions of the same tool. Wouldn't it be more profitable to sell one good quality tool?

But I don't build tools so what do I know.

The name sells in box stores and quality doesnt matter as much. Profit margins are higher too.

You have to read the fine print. Many manufacturers make special models for black friday. people will see a 60" LED TV for $500 and think its a steal then find out the specs on it are terrible.

We use a lot of Metabo and they have their German made stuff and their chinese stuff. Its pretty obvious which is which though.

Hilti is another great commercial grade German brand. Their tool fleet management is neat too if you wiuld benefit from it.

Hitachi makes some grear stuff but they are one you have to pay attention to as they have their homeowner grade tools and their contractor grade tools. both are good quality hust depends on how much youll use it.
