Southeast Wyoming | Alberta Farmer - 12/6/2013 00:20 Dad said they used to have a tractor, possibly MF 65, that had some sort of powder or granular weight in the rear tires instead of fluid. Apparently it worked fine in summer, but in the winter it would clump together and the first mile or so was extremely rough. Of course at anything more than 40 below, any tire feels like it is square when you first start out. In answer to your question, with overhead heat, it will take 3 days, 5 hours, 16 minutes and 12 seconds. Approximately.
Some around here used what they called "white lead" IIRC. Google only gets one hit for using white lead as wheel/tire ballast - a forum reference calling it something they must have used in the dark ages.
I'd ask some of the old timers around but "they are us" now. |
