Subject: Re: Deep ripping/ mole plowing wetlands question

NE South Dakota Clark, SD
I have customers that have run their plows in such a manner. To the best of my knowledge none have gotten in trouble for it. They consider it deep ripping, but it is also done on grade. It does help, but is only good for a season or two. It is not as good as tile drainage. I did have a family member that came up with the idea of burying 3/4 inch rock through the boot while deep ripping on grade. He has not done it, but kind of a different approach. I hope he tries it to find out what will happen. They did tile through a 0 acre wetland this year, because NRCS could not come up with a setback for it.
