Northeast Louisiana
There have been a lot of new systems built in the delta over the past 10 years, and virtually all of them are loops. You can pull out of, or go into, any bin you want just by opening gates without moving any augers or anything. It's very easy to transfer from bin to bin for blending or drying purposes. We don't shut ours down full if grain. If the electricity goes off or if it somehow gets shut down we drain the vertical pipe so we don't smoke belts trying to restart. That requires about a 15 bushel cleanup, but doesn't happen often. If I were starting from scratch, I'd still do a loop but I'd have side load outs on a couple of bins. This would let us load out multiple trucks at one time and/or make it easier for one guy to load out by himself. An overhead loadout bin would be nice too.
