It's better to replace everything you can with a sealed LED unit if possible. For most trucks this is not an issue but every once and awhile there is a more "special" light you cannot replace with an LED unit and have to resort to the bulbs you are referring to. Spend some time looking around to find replacement sealed units first. Or post a picture of them here.

Also remember that more diodes is not always better if they are old technology.
