Thats the part a lot of people miss. 4x4 doesn't help you on ice, and doesn't help you stop.
The downside a RWD vehicle has is its tendancy to want to fishtail and many drivers tendancy to over correct and make the issue worse. This happens wit 4x4 too though.
We have a 2wd Suburban and while they are not animals in teh snow, they are not bad with adecent driver. Too many people have forgotten how to drive though.
I would suggest a good snow tire though for the rear. Winterforces dig in snow but wear fast and are noisy, Michelin LTX winters are not as agressive but can be run year round if you wont put a ton of miles on it. |
