Those guys were idiots, I'd be pissed if they were my calves. Kinda hard for me to see it as criminal but hey I don't make the laws. That being said this going to be a huge problem for all of us in livestock going forward. We have a culture that at same time demands cheap food but also demands (at times) cumbersome animal 'welfare' practices. Basic economics demands low paid labor taking care of animals, and then everyone acts shocked when stuff like this happens!? The general public has all the time in the world to 'act' outraged when something like this happens but no time to find out where their food comes from or how it was produced???? | |
