Subject: RE: Bluetooth and XM radio on newer tractors

Near Intersection of I-35 & I-90 Southern Mn.
I got a new 8310R this fall. I also got a smartphone. This is a "Straight Talk" model from Wal-Mart.

I've tried pairing the bluetooth phone portion with both my Ford Edge car and the 8310R. In the Edge, the conversations are clear but I can't get it to transfer my contacts to the car's phonebook.

In the tractor, the phonebook transfers nicely but the phone doesn't seem to want to work properly. I was pleasantly surprised to see a USB connector under the cover of the compartment on the Command Arm. I bought a bunch of USB to micro cables on the Internet. I leave one of these in each vehicle so that I don't have to drag a charging cord with me as I move about. Granted the phone doesn't need to be charged all the time but it is handy to be able to do it with each vehicle.

On my Silverado truck there are two lighter sockets on the dash and also one in the compartment below the center arm rest. I put one of the cables with a lighter adapter there and strung the cord out the side.
