| Let me see if I understand this.
On something like a 4020, the pump sends high pressure fuel to each nozzle when that cylinder is due to fire.
On something like the old Detroits, low pressure fuel is sent to each cylinder all the time but a cam causes an injector to squirt the fuel under pressure in the cylinder when it is ready to fire.
On common rail, high pressure fuel goes to each nozzle all the time but an electronic signal opens the nozzle when it is ready to fire.
Is that even close to being correct? | |
