WC IL
Some places are weighing wagons. Was a county in central Illinois a few years ago where the highway commissioner got tired of guys tearing up the roads pulling loaded grain carts to their bins, so he asked the cops to come weigh some. IIRC, they weighed a guy with a cart and issued a ticket with like an $18,000 fine, and ticketed several with large wagons as well. There was a big stink about it, the state legislature got involved and all. I'm pretty confident the weight laws are the same here, 36000 on a 2 axle wagon if it has cement mixer tires and 9' between the axles. Was a guy near me a few years ago that bought a 750 bu. wagon and changed the decals to 530. Thought that would fool the cops if they saw it. As far as I know, he's never been stopped.
