Tablerock Ranch eastern Wa
Ben feel your pain, we pivot irrigate wheat here in an historically dryland area, couple questions, are you only limited by available water in wells ? or are you limited by season, if you have deep soil, ANY SOIL ! you can pre irrigate in the fall and early spring and bank water when your recharge rate is good, if you stick with spring wheat and can get it in early, I bet you can nurse it along with 1" shots of water periodically and still raise 100 BU, I would not give up my seed count just yet, I just read your handle, " where zero deg is warm " we have pushed some pivot use into some colder than I like weather and have not crashed a circle yet, if you don't have drop heads already get them, keeps the ice off, dump as much water as possible early then space out 1" shots when your wells allow save a shot for when your filling heads.
