Subject: Question on PP acres and tillage radishes

NC Iowa
After reading old AG Talk post and current posts on using tillage radishes for cover crop on acres and PP acres, I see there are questions on both sides ( advantages and disadvantages). After reading that some have experienced tile plugging problems from the roots, I am wondering if terminating the radishes growth, by either shredding the foliage, or chemical killing them before they get that deep would work. Would this also help start the decay then of the tubers, so that by early spring there would be no concerns of remaining tubers interfering with planting ? I realize doing this will cut back on the good use of them as far as breaking up soil compaction areas, but the last thing I need is for plugged tile lines. Thanks, Mr.D
