Depends, we've harvested 13% wheat with a little green stem. Generally, like Lawfarms said, 3 days...maybe 5. If the velvet leaf is still pretty green it could be an issue. Is it very thick?
edited: You don't say where you are but humidity will play a role. We are pretty dry and usually around 80 with light winds at harvest time.
