NW Central Ohio | ...I don't know about it not liking "low poor drained soil". It seems that nothing likes that kind of conditions...so whatever you're going to plant there is going to suffer. We grow a lot of it in flat lakebed soils in NW Ohio. They lay very wet all winter, and the best thing you can do for your wheat is to get it in early, and allow it to develop a good root system.
