Like other red products of that era the brakes were severely lacking.  IIRC we tried about 4 years ago to fix them on a 1460 and the parts were unavailble back then.  If you took a lot of time you could probably rig up a clutch master cylinder for each pedal and rebuild or replace the slave cylinders as they are the same as newer machines and parts are availble for them.
