Subject: IH 5400 drill and beans

I don't have a manual for  this drill,   but  I am  setting up  the machine to plant  beans this week.   The  ground drive tires are  9.5X14,    how  many revolutions  should  I  turn these tires  to get   a  sample?      ( 10 revolutions= 'x' amount of  acre)??       Shooting for     145,000  emerged plants,  so  I need to  plant   10% more?
Or would  is it easier to  figure  X revolutions make   100 feet of  row,  then  go and count the  dropped seed?     I'm thinking  2.25-2.5 seed per running foot (7.5 inch row)
The other question would be:  would it be  better to run   'normal' speed  and have the flute cups  very narrow (one bean wide),  or   'slow' speed  and have the flute cup opened up to ~2 bean wide?  which one would be more gentle on  the seed?
