Central Kentucky | Now that brings back a lot of memories and some back pain. Worked in SW Iowa as a boy with shelling crews. Hard work but good eating at lunch time. Ladies fixed a spread that would bring a tear to your eyes. That was the way most Iowa corn was put up in those days. Out of the field and into the crib. Sheller would bring the machine and a truck to haul the grain. Farmer provided the crew and hauled the cobs. That thing could make a pile quick. | |
