Subject: Metric grease fitting to 1/4 pipe thread

Bluffton, Ohio
Anyone know where I can get a fitting to screw into a metric grease fitting on one end and 1/4 inch pipe thread on the other end. I am trying to make an adapter to be able to hook up to a Porto Power and pump oil into places that will not take grease by taking the grease fitting out and putting this fitting in its place. I thought the grease zert was a 6.1 and tried this fitting from McMaster Carr http://www.mcmaster.com/#stainless-steel-pipe-fittings/=mksnbl but it would not tighten down. Do I need some sort of tapered thread ? Has anyone else tried this? Does it work ? The fittings are on a John Deere 1990 CCS air seeder but would like the common sizes for John Deere.
