West Central IL | You also need to make sure the Roading switch does light up when switched on. I just installed a similar setup on mine and the roading switch was not connected under the panel which makes the light stay off but the system will not work.
Also make sure your Nav II has the Trimble software and not the CaseIH. I also had this problem as I bought a used Nav II that was supposed to be flashed for Trimble. It was not!! and the FMX would not talk to it. Sent it to AgExpress and now it works great.
