What you want to do works well. More stable and probably the same mileage loaded as a pickup. We ran into two issues when pulling a stock trailer with the semi. Nobody wanted to drive it cause it rode rough as heck, and with no four wheel drive you could get stuck on a piss puddle. Other than that, have at it.
