Subject: RE: Spelling change ?

NC ND
Would you believe me if I say the moderators changed it??

Didn't think so, a few years back I went out with a girl from Winnipeg a couple of times and she enjoyed correcting me for the spelling of that and Winnipeg. I can still spell Winnipeg (I think) but always forget which is the correct spelling for the term meaning someone from Canada. The "e" looks better to me, however when a real live person from Canada used an "a" I figured I must be wrong. So in the interests of international harmony I felt it best to change it. At one time I was north of the border enough to start speaking with the "oo", "eh" and the silent e at the end of many words. I much prefer the northern accent to the Minnesota "fargo" type accent that creeps into ND from the east.

In response to the difference in the reply, I editted after the replys were already up.
